  10. How can I fix / heal a small hole in a tree?

    gardening.stackexchange.com/questions/52782

The chemicals may kill any bacteria and fungus present (not 100% sure). I then painted just the foam itself heavily. It will degrade from the sun's UV. It keeps out animals and insects. The trees seemed healthier afterwards. But I have never dealt with a hole that small. Different trees will probably react differently to removal.

    gardening.stackexchange.com/questions/57848/ants-on-trees-ok-or-bad

Aphids and ants might like my trees, but they love garden nasturtium. If there's a nasturtium somewhere close to the trees, aphids, ants and ladybugs will happily move there (here's a related article): As a bonus, these plants are easy to grow.
