Gigabyte make very attractive cards that aren't much costlier than the cheapo companies, at this stage I have Asus TUF mainboard and graphics. If I went from 3070Ti to 4070ti right this minute I'd probably go Gigabyte as Asus is asking too much of a premium.
Gigabyte is not a brand I normally gravitate to, but last summer when I had the opportunity to buy a Gigabyte Eagle 6700 XT at MSRP, I did. And in all honesty, it’s been fine. Despite being even one of their lower end lines the 3-fan cooler is pretty good, 0 RPM mode for normal use, and even when gaming at 100% load the temps are okay and the ...
Gigabyte Aorus owner here. Honestly, haven't had any issues with my 2021 Aorus 17G. It's a great, well-built machine with a mech keyboard for the price with excellent cooling, and the lack of mux switch doesn't even bother me since performance difference is mostly a few fps.
The Gigabyte website has a few issues that I think need addressing when it comes to how Bios files are posted and handled. Beta/Alpha BIOS updates: These need to have note on them when people download them from the site. They have no note listing that they are a beta bios, and are frequently added or removed from the website.
I will say this, once I downloaded gigabyte control center, the RGB feature on my MB and video card finally synched. I originally just downloaded gigabyte RGB fusion software hoping the two components would sync but that wasn't the case. Long story short, I downloaded the gigabyte control center (or app center) and the two components did sync.
First close Gigabyte's AppCenter, then open file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Gigabyte\AppCenter\Util.xml" in text editor. Locate entry for "Norton Internet Shit (NIS)", modify Install="1" to be Install="0", save file and run the Gigabyte AppCenter again. No more "Norton Internet Shit (NIS)" offered to be installed. Problem solved
NOTE: The Gigabyte Aeorus board is $50 more than the Gigabyte X AX boar, but comes with an Intel wifi card, not Realtek. The board also has 14 phases of power, instead of 8. Fir me, it was really gonna be too much additional work to remove the MB (for a third time), return it, buy a non-wifi MB (probably ~$50 cheaper), and reinstall everything.
So I just bought the B550i Aorus board and was wondering if Gigabyte has any useful utilities that are worth installing. RGB Fusion APP Center Easy Tune System Information Viewer On/Off Charge™ / On/Off Charge™ 2 @ BIOS Realtek Gaming LAN bandwidth Control Utility Fast Boot Smart Backup Game Boost
Gigabyte drivers and software have been underwhelming, but spotting the Norton installer while updating Gigabyte Control Center is jaw droppingly bad. I chose five entries to be updated. Nowhere was Norton mentioned. It's almost 2024 and Gigabyte is shadow installing adware without user consent. This has been illegal for over 20 years in many ...
Lol, upvoted so that Gigabyte employees read CLRS. The entire Windows 11 install was faster than GCC updating a few small drivers. And the version of GCC it installed automatically upon first launching into Windows 11 was completely unusable, it simply didn't work at all. I had to uninstall it and find the newest version of GCC on Gigabyte's ...
