To market yourself, staying on one platform wouldn't be too useful so you have to branch out, be it YouTube, Reddit, Instagram or TikTok. Personally, I wouldn't recommend Instagram as I don't know many VTubers using it. Each streamer has their own preference (mine is TikTok).

I've been a VTuber for nearly 2 years, so I can give you a few basic tips on how to get started if you don't know where to begin. :> To answer your initial question - a debut stream isn't necessary at all. You can just start streaming, and go from there.
I've tried both VNyan and Warudo. And yet they are not ultimate apps that replace VSeeFace entirely. I feel like they are more VTuber Plus replacement. In general, VSeeFace yet has the best LeapMotion support. Vnyan supports it, but worse. Warudo does not support it at all. Mediapipe hand tracking feels limited with my camera set up.
