Beginning in 2023, fish requiring a catch record card (including sturgeon, salmon, steelhead, and halibut) and all shellfish now require a license to be harvested on Free Fishing Weekend. All other rules still apply, including seasons, area, lure or bait restrictions, size and catch limits.
