Downers Grove Township is one of nine townships in DuPage County, Illinois, US. As of the 2020 census, its population was 149,921 and it contained 61,933 housing units. [ 2 ] It is the largest township in the county, both in terms of area and population.
Downers Grove is in a humid continental climate zone. On average, January is the coldest month, while July is the warmest month. August typically has the most precipitation, and February the least. The record high for Downers Grove was 105 °F (41 °C) in July 2005, and the record low of −26 °F (−32 °C) was set in January 1985. [17]

State law specifies that no two townships in Illinois shall have the same name, [3] and that, if the Illinois Secretary of State compares the township abstracts and finds a duplicate, the county that last adopted the name shall instead adopt a different name at the next county board meeting. [4]

Oakbrook Terrace Tower, an octagonal 31-story office building, was designed by Helmut Jahn and built in 1987. It is the tallest building in Illinois outside the city limits of Chicago and is currently owned by Edward Napleton, president of the Ed Napleton Automotive Group. [ 11 ]
WDGC-FM was granted a construction permit on November 25, 1968. [5] On February 28, 1969, WDGC-FM began broadcasting with 10 watts of power on 88.3 FM. [ 1 ] In 1974, the station's ERP was increased to 250 watts, using a directional antenna to protect nearby stations on adjacent frequencies. [ 5 ]
