"Release Me" is a pop song recorded by Swedish singer Agnes Carlsson taken from her third studio album, Dance Love Pop (2008). The track was written by Carlsson, Anders Hansson and Sharon Vaughn . It was released as the album's second single in Sweden and as Agnes's debut single internationally.
Agnes Carlsson was born in Vänersborg, Sweden, on 6 March 1988, the youngest of four siblings. Her father was an environmental engineer and her mother a nurse and social worker. [3] Agnes started taking violin lessons and joined a choir at a young age. She sang solo in front of a live audience for the first time whilst still at school. [4]
The album entered the Swedish official chart on 6 November 2008 just a few days after it was released on October 28. [4] It entered at five and that was also its peak, the following weeks it started to fall and left the chart after nine weeks to later re-enter it in late April due to the re-release of the album, the Love Love Love Edition, and peaked at twelve.
In 2009, Agnes released her third studio album, Dance Love Pop. The first single, "Release Me", peaked at number nine in Sweden and was released as Agnes' international debut. [1] The song reached the top five in the United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland, and the top 10 in many other countries.

In early August 2012 a release date was finally confirmed and later on August 14 the title and artwork of the album was officially announced. [1] In a press release from the record company Agnes commented on the album name; "I like how the word 'Veritas' subside, aesthetically how it looks and especially what it stands for.
