All tracks are available on the CD Marching On Together, Leeds United Greatest Hits, which can be purchased. The song was re-released in 2010 via a social networking group, after an idea by Dave Whittaker, from Roundhay in Leeds, who also designed the sleeve for the CD Marching on Together, Leeds United Greatest Hits.
Its B-side was the better known song "Leeds Leeds Leeds", also known as "Marching On Together". "Leeds United" had new lyrics written by Les Reed , to the tune of "Sally Sunshine", a song originally written by Reed with Geoff Stephens .
The music video was released on June 7, 2010 onto YouTube and features the Patriot Remix. It shows the band dancing and playing different instruments; Drew Brown playing guitar, Eddie Fisher playing drum set and a marching bass drum, Brent Kutzle playing a marching snare drum, Zach Filkins playing a synthesizer and shaker, and Ryan Tedder singing and playing the piano and tambourine.
Leslie David Reed OBE (24 July 1935 – 15 April 2019) [1] [2] was an English songwriter, arranger, musician and light-orchestra leader. [3] His major songwriting partners were Gordon Mills, Barry Mason, and Geoff Stephens, although he wrote songs with many others such as Roger Greenaway, Roger Cook, Peter Callander, and Johnny Worth.
He was the major songwriter for the English singer Declan Galbraith for his first album Declan (2002), including the hit "Tell Me Why" (No. 29 in UK [9]) and "Till the Day We Meet Again". He founded his own publishing company, Barry Mason Enterprises Ltd. [2] [10] Mason was a frequent guest on the BBC1 panel game Pop Quiz, hosted by Mike Read.
The Alarm was the band's first album release, though two excerpted singles, "Marching On" and "The Stand", were both released before the EP. "For Freedom" was recorded live at The Marquee , Wardour Street , London W.1. on 30 January 1983.
