He was the colonel of the 114th Ohio Infantry and served from April 27, 1862, until honorably discharged on October 20, 1863, on tender of resignation after being wounded in the Battle of Vicksburg. Cradlebaugh returned to Nevada and engaged in the mining business until his death at Eureka; interment was in Forest Cemetery, Circleville, Ohio.
He was married to Mary Rebecca Millar of Pickaway County on October 6, 1870. They had eight children. [5] He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Chi Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. [5] Cromley died at his Walnut Township home on April 17, 1921. He was interred at Forest Cemetery in Circleville. [6]
