Delano (/ ˈ d ɛ l ə ˌ n oʊ / DEH-lə-NOH) [4] is a city in Wright County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 6,484 at the 2020 census . [ 5 ] The city prides itself on its "small-town feel."
The original Delano Village Hall is a historic government building in Delano, Minnesota, United States, now in development as the Delano Heritage Center.From its construction in 1888 through most of the 20th century the building housed municipal offices, the police and fire departments, and a public library, while the upper-floor meeting hall was a key venue for public and private events.
Simon Weldele was born in 1860 in nearby Buffalo Township and moved to Delano, a growing railroad town, in 1884, where he opened a saloon. This house, constructed in 1893, was the first in Delano to have a hot water heater. Weldele was remembered for being active in civic and church affairs. [3]

Plans are currently underway to create many more attractions for the park. The group, "Friends of Delano," are leading an effort to add historical trails, gardens, higher levels of safety, and a way to connect the western portion with the middle portion of the park. So far, funding is in order, and the attractions are in the planning stage.
