The Stanley Motor Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of steam cars that operated from 1902 to 1924, going defunct after it failed to adapt to competition from rapidly improving Internal combustion engine vehicles. The cars made by the company were colloquially called Stanley Steamers although several different models were produced.
Stanley Steemer was founded by Jack Bates in Columbus, Ohio in 1947 as the Jack Bates Carpet Cleaning Company. [1] [2] In 1970, Jack's son Wesley graduated from Wittenberg University and went to work with his father. They built their own steam cleaner, dubbed the Stanley Steemer.
A 99 Cents Only Store was used as the filming location of the Fear parody from The Andy Dick Show where it was referred to as the 98 Cent Plus 1 Only Store. A 99 Cents Only store was featured in scenes in the 2002 movie Punch-Drunk Love. [24] In 2005 it was parodied in The Simpsons's episode The Girl Who Slept Too Little as 99¢ Shrink .
