Claude Provencher was born in Plessisvile, Québec in June, 1949. He graduated in Architecture from the University of Montréal in 1974. He went on to work for the architecture firm Papineau, Gérin-Lajoie, Leblanc Architectes, where he met his would-be partner Michel Roy.
