Rainey Bethea (c. 1909 [b] – August 14, 1936), was the last person publicly executed in the United States. [1] Bethea, who confessed to the rape and killing of a 70-year-old woman named Lischia Edwards, was convicted of her rape and publicly hanged in Owensboro, Kentucky.
He currently resides in Owensboro and has two children: Kim and James III. [1] Glenn is a devout Christian. [ 1 ] Glenn obtained his BS from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 1971, his MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh in 1974, and his EdD from the University of Kentucky in 2001.
