José Luis García-López (born March 26, 1948) [1] is a Spanish-Argentine comics artist who works in the United States, particularly in a long-running relationship with DC Comics. In addition to his storytelling art, he produced the official reference art for characters in the DC Comics Style Guide , as used in licensed merchandise.

The original series was published as issues #1–214 from 1989 to 2007. Seven Annuals were also published.. Three one-issue Halloween specials, Fears, Madness and Ghosts, a fourth one-issue special based on the Knightfall story arc, Mitefall and one three-issue miniseries, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight - Jazz, were also published under the Legends of the Dark Knight banner.
Most of the other designs (and much of the packaging artwork) were based on José Luis García-López' classic DC Style Guides (other artwork used appears to be the work of Dick Giordano, who was known to ink Garcia-Lopez' art for the publications, and Mike DeCarlo). Klaus Kristin is the hybrid son of a male yeti and a woman named Katrina Kristin. While blending in with the humans, Klaus became a professional athlete. He arrived in Gotham City to commit a crime spree where he froze a criminal named Jackie, and when the corpse was found, his friend was babbling upon Batman's arrival about them being attacked by a monster.
Batman dives, carrying both himself and his father out of harm's way. Once they are safe, Bruce's father removes his mask to reveal that he is, in fact, Robin. Batman reveals that he knew all along, but that the important part is that he has come to his senses. Batman says that he needs to be alone, and heads for a rooftop to look over Gotham City.
