The two of them leave Lily with Jay and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) to baby-sit her and take Gloria (Sofía Vergara) with them to serve as a translator since the family does not speak English. Gloria ends up feeling sick on the car ride to the hospital.
For the occasion, Gloria's mother, Pilar (Elizabeth Peña), and sister, Sonia (Stephanie Beatriz), come to visit bringing with them their Colombian traditions. Pilar wants her grandson to be given the family name Fulgencio , but Jay finds the name terrible and wants to call his new son Joe.
Jay accepts, but in turn, encourages Gloria to confront her fear of petting Stella's belly. They all agree to do it simultaneously, and when they do, they are all disgusted, but at the end of the day, Gloria pets Stella's belly when no one is around, and Manny sneaks into the kitchen to eat a pickle.
Lily breaks Gloria's phone by accident but when she is asked who did it, she blames Joe, Jay and Gloria's son. Jay and Gloria do not believe her and try to make her confess the truth with not much success. Lily also knocks over her baby powder but covers her tracks by claiming that Joe can walk and faking his footsteps.

At Gloria and Jay's house, Gloria's 11-year-old son Manny (Rico Rodriguez) has come home from a sleepover, where he was the victim of a prank. Gloria promises to help Manny get revenge, which he does by setting a kid's bicycle on fire.
Jay has made reservations for the whole family at a new restaurant that he has waited to go to for months. However, everyone seems to be running late: Gloria takes forever to get ready, Claire becomes paranoid about letting Luke stay home alone and Cam and Mitch fight after they both wear the same outfit.
