Branford is a shoreline town located on Long Island Sound in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States, about 6 miles (10 km) east of downtown New Haven. The town is part of the South Central Connecticut Planning Region. Branford borders East Haven to the west, Guilford to the east, and North Branford to the north.

The Branford Town Hall was built in 1857 in the Greek Revival style and is attributed to Henry Austin. [2] It has stuccoed exterior walls, and the building has received two renovations, the first of which was a columned front portico in the early 20th century and a rear addition in the late 20th century.
