Alper Demir is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey. He was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2012 [ 1 ] for his contributions to stochastic modeling and analysis of phase noise .
Tan was a Fellow at the University of Cambridge – Judge Business School in 2013, and was a visiting professor at the University College London – School of Management from 2017 till 2019. Currently, he serves as a visiting professor at Politecnico di Milano, and Senior Research Fellow for ERA Project IN4ACT at Kaunas University of Technology.

The origins of Istanbul University date back to 1453, [13] [3] when it was founded by Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II as a school of philosophy, medicine, law and letters. [13] The University of Constantinople, established in 425 CE by the Eastern Roman emperor Theodosius II as the Pandidacterium, later became known as the Phanar Greek Orthodox College after the Fall of Constantinople in 1453.
