Fordham Preparatory School (commonly known as Fordham Prep) is an American, independent, Jesuit, boys' college-preparatory school located on the Rose Hill campus of Fordham University in the Bronx, a borough of New York City. From its founding in 1841 until 1970, the school was under the direction of Fordham University.

McLaughlin led the Fordham Prep basketball team in scoring all three years he was a varsity player and was a unanimous selection to the 1965 All-City First Team. After an earlier administration had made an unsuccessful attempt to initiate a program of military training on campus, Father Dealy succeeded in October 1885. By 1888, 150 students in three companies, including a company of Second Divisioners, or Prep boys, were engaged in this training, the forerunner of Fordham's ROTC." [2]
It has a continued rivalry with the Bronx's Fordham Preparatory School. The two schools compete in an annual "Turkey Bowl", the oldest high school football rivalry in New York City .
