Songs of White Lion is a duo of albums by Mike Tramp featuring new re-recorded versions of White Lion songs, released via Frontiers Music. Volume 1 was released on 14 April 2023 and Volume 2 was released on August 23, 2024.
Mikkel Trempenau (born 14 January 1961), better known as Mike Tramp, is a Danish singer best known for his work with the glam metal band White Lion. He was the sole continuous member of the band until their disbandment in 2013.
The original members left the band following the last White Lion studio album Mane Attraction in 1991 and had no interest in reforming the original band. To avoid legal issues with former members, the band was known as Tramp's White Lion when this album was re-released in 2004 under the title Last Roar. [3]
White Lion disbanded in 1992 and not long afterwards, their first compilation album, The Best of White Lion was released. Mike Tramp reformed White Lion with all new musicians in 1999 and again in 2004, following a failed attempt to reform the original line up.
The new line-up of White Lion performed at the 2005 Bang Your Head Festival in Germany. It was the band's return concert and released as a live DVD on December 5, 2008. [ 9 ] The DVD also includes a full length interview with Mike Tramp , a slide show, and performances of songs from the US tour.
Return of the Pride is the first original White Lion studio album since their 1991 album Mane Attraction and is the only studio album with the new-line up which still features original lead singer Mike Tramp.
