The 3rd Marine Division is a division of the United States Marine Corps based at Camp Courtney, Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler in Okinawa, Japan.It is one of three active duty infantry divisions in the Marine Corps and together with the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (1stMAW) and the 3rd Marine Logistics Group (3rd MLG) forms the III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF).
3d Littoral Logistics Battalion (3d LLB) is a logistics battalion in the United States Marine Corps. It is headquartered at Marine Corps Base Hawaii and falls under the command of 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment and the 3rd Marine Division (3d MarDiv).

They were again reassigned in April 1971 to the 1st Marine Division. The battalion was deactivated 1 June 1974. [2] 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines was reactivated on 1 October 1975 at MCB Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, and assigned to the 3rd Marine Division. Elements of the battalion deployed to the Western Pacific at various times during the 1970s and 1980s.
The regiment was assigned to the 3rd Marine Division and moved to Japan in 1952 where it remained until after the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed on 27 Jul 1953. The 4th Marines were sent to Korea on 23 August 1953 to defend South Korea in the event hostilities resumed and returned to the Japan on 27 July 1954.
On 23 March 2021, the battalion was redesignated as 3d Transportation Battalion. [3] As part of the Force Design 2030 modernization, the battalion redesignated and reorganized as Combat Logistics Battalion 12 on 30 August 2030 and relocated back to Camp Hansen in June 2024. [ 4 ]

The 3d Littoral Combat Team is an infantry unit in the United States Marine Corps based out of Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Nicknamed the "Lava Dogs", the unit consists of approximately 800 Marines and sailors and falls under the command of the 3d Marine Littoral Regiment of the 3rd Marine Division .
