Mărginimea Sibiului (Hungarian: Szeben-Hegyalja) is an area which comprises 18 Romanian localities in the south-western part of Sibiu County, in southern Transylvania, all of them having a unique ethnological, cultural, architectural, and historical heritage.

Born in Șpring, Alba County, in the Transylvania region, Septimiu Albini was the first of two sons born to Vasile Albini, a former vice-tribune in the legion of Axente Sever during the Transylvanian Revolution of 1848–1849; and to Emilia Neagoe, a niece of Greek-Catholic Metropolitan Alexandru Sterca-Șuluțiu.
Until 1990, the newspaper titled the Sotsialisticheskaya Industriya, then it was renamed into the Rabochaya Tribuna. In 1989 the newspaper was closed by the CPSU Central Committee; one year later it was reorganized as Rabochaya Tribuna. [2] Since April 1998 for newspaper fixed the current title.
The south side of the county, closer to the mountains was mainly inhabited by Romanians (Mărginimea Sibiului), and the north side of the country (the Transylvanian Plateau) was inhabited evenly by Germans and Romanians, but most Saxon villages are now deserted by their original ethnic German population.
