Find a local forum, marketplace, or a friend to sell it to. They’re gonna take you to the cleaners. Remember that a "fair price" for used gun is the same price they'll sell it for. Which means they'll only pay you like 50% or 60% of that, because they have to turn a profit. I always suggest selling to a friend.
I used to work at the gun counter @ Cabelas you will get 10-25% less than what the blue book values it. No, but they will not offer you a price you'd be willing to sell for (unless you're desperate for cash). People who sell guns to stores or pawn shops tend to have one thing in common. Cabela’s trade value any good? I was in Cabela’s this weekend and was reminded they buy/trade used guns. Before I haul my junk down there, I was curious if anyone had experience trading or selling to them. You won't get top dollar for your trade at a big box store. You're exchanging that for the convenience.

First firearm I bought was a used .22 for $100 about 6 years ago at cabelas, came with some free ammo too, but the crotchety salesman removed it from the magazine before sending it home with me. My typical experience at my local Cabelas has been poor for used guns, I've seen several new guns on sale for less than guns in the library.

1 ) Sometimes, Dealers get heat from Corporate or the ATF and start being uptight AF. My old DM was that way. 2 ) Any person that is signing off as the primary seller on a 4473 has a legal right to refuse to sell a firearm to any person for any or no reason, without explanation.
I greatly prefer Scheels or my local ma and pa dealer, much faster, prices are not significantly different, service is much better, guys working there actually know something about guns. I swear Cabela's staffs the gun counter with people who shot grandpa's over-under shotgun 20 years ago and never learned anything about guns since then.
