Vocaloid (ボーカロイド, Bōkaroido) is a singing voice synthesizer software product. Its signal processing part was developed through a joint research project between Yamaha Corporation and the Music Technology Group in Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. [1]
Sonika was an English vocal developed by Zero-G Limited and released in July 2009. She was advertised as a "virtual vocalist modeled on the voice of a young girl pop singer". Sonika was the first Zero-G vocal to be based on an amateur singer's voice rather than that of a professional.
An official album was created featuring the software. The album is titled "chipspeech AUTOMATE SONGS .01" and includes a cover of the song Stakker Humanoid using Otto Mozer, whose vocal is an emulation of the same synthesizer used for the samples taken from the arcade game Berzerk.

Unlike the original version, the second release featured three product levels: Harmony 2 Express, Harmony 2 Pro, and Harmony 2 Extreme. The "Express" version was positioned as an entry-level, free release to allow users a chance to "test-drive" the software.
Daisy: Daisy was the very first vocal added to the software. Daisy is a lonely time traveler and the estranged lover of Chipspeech vocal, Dandy 704. Daisy was offered as a free separate download, allowing her to be imported into both Alter/Ego and Chipspeech and acted as the default vocal. She was retired and replaced with Bones.
A complementary male vocal for Meiko, Kaito was released on February 17, 2006 for the Japanese version of the software. [18] He was developed by Yamaha and was originally codenamed "Taro". [ 4 ] Kaito was initially acknowledged as a commercial failure and sold poorly, bringing in only 500 units in contrast to Meiko's 3,000.
