Hopkins Park is a village in Kankakee County, Illinois, United States. The population was 603 at the 2010 census , [ 3 ] down from 711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Kankakee – Bradley Metropolitan Statistical Area .

Covering 123 acres (0.50 km 2), the land was formerly the home of Dr. John Kennicott, who settled in the area in 1836 from New Orleans, the Kenniott family lived in a log cabin until the Kennicott House was built in 1856. John Kennicott was influential in the advancement of horticulture in Illinois.
When the sanitarium became under-used by the 1970s, the city of Chicago decided to redevelop the property as North Park Village, to include senior citizen housing, a school for the developmentally disabled, a nature preserve, and parkland.
