Marine Court is a Grade II listed [1] Streamline Moderne apartment block on the seafront of St Leonards-on-Sea, [2] part of the town and borough of Hastings in East Sussex, England. The block was built between 1936 and 1938 and was modelled on the recently launched Cunard ocean liner Queen Mary .
The possibility of housing on the site came in the early 1970s when it was considered that community design and an inclusive plan would enable the site to accommodate visitors, businesses, and homes. The commercial area for retail began trading in 1993 and today still expects some additional business and commercial entities to open.
Priory Meadow Shopping Centre is a shopping centre in Hastings, East Sussex, England.The centre was opened in 1997 by Queen Elizabeth II. [1]The building was built on the site of the Central Recreation Ground, which had originally opened in 1864 and had since remained the main cricket venue in the town. [3]
In 1923 it was rebuilt in Cambridge Road and renamed the Royal East Sussex Hospital. In 1993 this closed when the Conquest Hospital, was opened. This is managed by the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. In 2021 a new medical centre which houses two GP surgeries and a pharmacy, located next to West St Leonards Community Centre, was opened.

Hastings (/ ˈ h eɪ s t ɪ ŋ z / HAY-stingz) is a seaside town and borough in East Sussex on the south coast of England, 24 mi (39 km) east of Lewes and 53 mi (85 km) south east of London. The town gives its name to the Battle of Hastings , which took place 8 mi (13 km) to the north-west at Senlac Hill in 1066.
Church Farm was located on the north bank of the river, and when it was offered for sale, Hastings Council bought it, assuming that water would be available beneath it. Work commenced in 1899, to sink two wells on the farm, numbered 1 and 3, while well number 2 was to the south of the river, on land sold to them by Miss Brisco.
