Benson is a city in Cochise County, Arizona, United States. As of the 2020 census , the population of the city was 5,355. It was founded as a rail terminal for the area, and located approximately 45 miles (72 km) east-southeast of the city of Tucson .

State Route 90 (SR 90) is a highway in Cochise County, Arizona that runs from the I-10 junction at Benson to a junction with State Route 80 between Bisbee and Tombstone. It is a north–south route north of Sierra Vista, and an east–west route east of the city.
Part of the Lone Star Trail was designated as Arizona State Route 84 by the Arizona State Highway Department on September 9, 1927.
