That relationship paved the way for Kelly to purchase the Wayne, Nebraska stations in the spring of 2008 as Wayne Radio Works, LLC. The call sign was switched to KTCH on February 3, 2014, consistent with a migration of programming from KTCH (AM) 1590 over to Big Red Country FM at 104.9 mHz.
The KTCH stations were sold in 1987 to Don Dolesh, a Budweiser beer distributor in Fremont. NE. In 1997, KTCH-AM and KTCH-FM were purchased by Gene Koehn, owner of KNEN in Norfolk, NE. During Koehn's ownership the power of KTCH-FM was increased to 25,000 watts. Waitt Media purchased the stations on January 13, 2003.
Case Ian Punnett (March 3, 1960 – December 22, 2023) was an American radio broadcaster, author, professor, and ordained Episcopal deacon.. In the early to mid 1980s, Punnett hosted the WLRW morning show in his college town along with Val Wallace.
