Organizationally unique identifier. An organizationally unique identifier (OUI) is a 24-bit number that uniquely identifies a vendor, manufacturer, or other organization. OUIs are purchased from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics (IEEE) Registration Authority by the assignee (IEEE term for the vendor, manufacturer, or other organization).
The Individual Address Block (IAB) is an inactive registry which has been replaced by the MA-S (MAC address block, small), previously named OUI-36, and has no overlaps in addresses with the IAB [6] registry product as of January 1, 2014.
