The Monashee Mountains are a mountain range lying mostly in British Columbia, Canada, extending into the U.S. state of Washington. They stretch 530 km (329 mi) from north to south and 150 km (93 mi) from east to west. They are a sub-range of the Columbia Mountains. The highest summit is Mount Monashee, which reaches 3,274 m (10,741 ft).
Niagara Falls or Golden Niagara Falls is a waterfall in Niagara Canyon, part of Niagara Creek in Goldstream Park near Langford, British Columbia, Canada. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It drops 47.5 metres (156 ft) down a narrow gully .
The source of the name is unclear, but could either be the Niagara Falls, or the USS Niagara, which served in the Spanish–American War that year. [2] [3] During the railway construction, a work camp was cut out of the mountainside for the nearby 210-metre (700 ft) tunnel. [4] The town experienced rapid growth and brief prosperity.
Three per cent of Canada's land area is covered by permanent pastures. Canada has 7,200 square kilometres (2,800 sq mi) of irrigated land (1993 estimate). Agricultural regions in Canada include the Canadian Prairies, the Lower Mainland and various regions within the Interior of British Columbia, the St. Lawrence Basin and the Canadian Maritimes.
