Old Forge is a hamlet (and census-designated place) on New York State Route 28 in the town of Webb in Herkimer County, New York, United States. The population was 756 at the 2010 census. [ 7 ] Old Forge was formerly a village but dissolved its incorporation in 1936, [ 3 ] [ 8 ] but it remains the principal community in the region.
The "White Arch" located in the parking lot was brought to Old Forge in 1967 and first placed at the park in 1968. It is one of eleven white arches that was originally used at the 1964 New York World's Fair. [10] [11] [2] The park also has an area in the back dedicated to circus performances such as acrobatics and animal shows.

Bald Mountain, or Rondaxe Mountain, is a part of the Adirondack Mountains in the U.S. state of New York. [2] The trail leading up the mountain is a popular hike, likely due to its proximity to tourist towns (such as Old Forge, NY). The mountain is also home to the Rondaxe Mountain Fire Tower, [3] which contributes to the trail's popularity.

McCauley Mountain is a summit and ski resort in the Town of Webb, Herkimer County, New York. It is located just outside the hamlet of Old Forge, in the south-western area of the Adirondack Mountains. Opened in 1958, it was the hometown hill of Olympic skier Hank Kashiwa. [2] The summit of McCauley Mountain is at an elevation of 2,280 feet (690 m).
