Westland Mall is a demolished 860,000-square-foot (80,000 m 2) shopping center located at the intersection of U.S. Route 40 and Interstate 270 on the west side of Columbus, Ohio. In November 2012, the majority of the mall closed, and the last anchor closed in 2017. A mixed use development is planned, and demolition began around August 2023.
The demolition of Westland Mall is about halfway done. But the owner says they don't know what the future of the site will be.
The venture dates back to July 1995, when the Magic Johnson Crenshaw 15 opened in the Baldwin Hills Mall in the South region of Los Angeles, California. It was the first multiplex theatre opened, and was closed in 2010. [5] It was completely renovated and reopened as the Rave Cinemas Baldwin Hills 15 by the Rave Cinemas chain in 2011. [6]
