    According to the highly respective dictionary the term "white hat" is a noun and just means "A person who hacks into a computer network in order to test or evaluate its security systems." Just because "white hat" is slang does not change anything. This term can also mean (not "refer to") a piece of clothing, but not in the context of our article.
