On television, he is best known as Mr Jolly of the Roundabout Stop in the BBC's iconic children's programme Playdays. He recorded two series in the mid-'90s and was, in fact, the last Mr Jolly before the programme ended in 1997. He has appeared in 16 pantomimes at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, latterly as Dame.

The Dot Stop was replaced with the Playground Stop at one point, and, later on, the Tent Stop was replaced with the Poppy Stop. As to when, though, is a mystery.
