On 24 September, Leicester City travelled to the Bescot Stadium to play Walsall in an EFL Cup third round match. The game finished 0–0 with both sides unable to score any goals. In the penalty shoot-out, Danny Ward saved all 3 Walsall penalties to help Leicester advance through to the fourth round 3–0 on penalties.
Leicester City entered the FA Cup in the third round, and won away to Millwall. The club was founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse F.C, and became known as Leicester City in 1919. They moved to Filbert Street in 1891, were elected to the Football League in 1894 and moved to the nearby King Power Stadium in 2002.
