Lasinsky – an artist working under the influence of the Nazarene Brotherhood – took Becker on as a pupil between 1865 and 1868, and Becker assisted his teacher on decorations at the church of St Ignaz in Mainz, and at Mainz Cathedral. [1] In 1868 he moved to Frankfurt, where he studied under Eduard von Steinle at the Städel Kunstinstitut. [1]

Paula Modersohn-Becker (8 February 1876 – 20 November 1907) [1] was a German Expressionist painter of the late 19th and early 20th century. She is noted for the many self-portraits the artist produced, including nude self-portraits.

In 1935 he joined the Graphic Arts Division of the Works Project Administration and then became involved with the Atelier 17 printmaking studio in the 1940s before he was drafted into World War II. [4] He was also a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists. Becker began his teaching career after his return from the war.
Becker earned a Ph.D. in English and American literature from the University of California, San Diego. [1] She is a professor of the arts at Columbia University. [1] In 2007, she became dean of Columbia University School of the Arts. [2] She lectures on art, artists and their place in society, and feminist theory. [1]
Becker is home to FRC 4607 Coalition of Independent Students (CIS) which competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition. The Robotics team was established in March 31st, 2012, with the founders being Alex Jurek, a Technology Education teacher at Becker High School, and Mark Kolbinger, an English Teacher at Becker Middle School. The school was expanded by adding a new 7th grade class. In 1994 the school was a middle and high school with students from grades 7 through 12.
