Pedro Berruguete (c. 1450 – 1504) was a Spanish painter whose art is regarded as a transitional style between Gothic and Renaissance art. Berruguete most famously created paintings of the first few years of the Inquisition and of religious imagery for Castilian retablos .

Most of the other works were distributed to various locations or deposited in the Villanueva building. Among the most valuable pieces from the Museo de la Trinidad were those by El Greco, Pedro Berruguete, Juan Bautista Maíno, and Flemish paintings. Over 600 religious works, considered at the time to have little value, have since been lost.
Various works entered the Prado from the Museo de la Trinidad, including The Fountain of Grace by the School of Van Eyck, the Santo Domingo and San Pedro Martír altarpieces painted for the monastery of Santo Tomás in Ávila by Pedro Berruguete, and the five canvases by El Greco executed for the Colegio de doña María de Aragón.
