The Fredericksburg Historic District is located in Fredericksburg, Texas in Gillespie County. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in Texas on October 14, 1970 [ 2 ] The district area coincides with the original platting of the town by Herman Wilke, and the streets are laid out in a wide grid.
The site had black and white USGS aerial photographs of approximately 97% of the United States. In 2000, the USGS launched the new Urban Areas program, which will ultimately take high-resolution color aerial photographs of about 100 major American cities. Fredericksburg is located east of the center of Gillespie County 70 miles (110 km) north of San Antonio and 78 miles (126 km) west of Austin.. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 22.3 square kilometres (8.6 sq mi), of which 22.2 square kilometres (8.6 sq mi) are land and 0.12 km 2 (0.05 sq mi), or 0.55%, is covered by water.

Pioneer Memorial Library Fredericksburg, Texas. The Pioneer Memorial Library was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1967, Marker number 10045. 115 W. Main Street Designed by architect Alfred Giles, it served as the Gillespie County Courthouse from 1882 until 1939.
