You can file a claim with USPS. Priority mail is automatically insured for up to $100. I have had multiple people be the victims of porch pirates. I usually take the customer's word for it....even if it was 2 days. Customers don't always watch tracking on packages and know when exactly they are supposed to arrive.
Post Crafter. 03-31-2016 02:24 AM. USPS only adds international tracking to certain countries via select shipping methods. If you want to track all the way, you can add Registered Mail. It is around $13 or so and takes a bit longer as the parcel is checked in and out on each leg of the journey, but is the most secure way to ship anything overseas.
Is anyone having trouble receiving updates re USPS tracking? My packages have not been updated for an entire day. I signed up for e-mail updates, which had zero effect. TIA.
Um, has anyone had issues with etsy shipping today? I printed out 5 labels, delivered them to the po and stood in line to have them scanned so I know they were scanned. Yet not one of them says anything other than that the label was created and my receipt just has label numbers and no tracking!!!!! ...
I have the tracking information that shows when the package was received at the post office and the guaranteed delivery time of the next day by 3pm. However, we are going on day 3 of transit and the package is not expected to be delivered until tomorrow.

When shipping, note the USPS tracking number, which is USPS Priority Mail to the Asendia (or other global shipping partner) processing center somewhere in the US. That tracking number shows 'delivered' when it reaches the processing center. 2.
The USPS does indeed have "package tracking" with package tracking numbers and package tracking scans. Tracking for First Class letters and flats involves a different kind of tracking number(s) and a different scanning protocol. (There are other types of tracking and scanning as well; for example registered mail has a more rigorous protocol.)
Sometimes the tracking says it will arrive late as soon as it leaves the post office. I had one Priority package arrive 2 weeks after shipping. Some USPS hubs are having difficulty still. My last problem package was in Memphis. It sat there over a week.
