However, once you find a control channel frequency, you can use Unitrunker to ID the talkgroups and associated traffic channels for the system, and play audio for older protocols (but not P25 Phase 2.) SDR Trunk can play unencrypted P25 Phase 1 and Phase 2 voice, but does not log as well as Unitrunker.

Let the scanner run in discovery mode for a while or until you have a minimum of 1 hit even then I recommend about 1/2 hour just to ensure a good set of captures. To review the captures exit back to regular scanning and do the following menu-discovery,review discovery,trunking discovery results,a_run001,review run results,summary.

To make it work like the Icom you'll have to use Discovery mode that just measure the time it is on a channel and then continues regardless of what are happening on that channel, exactly as the Icom functions. So you have both of those functionalities to use in a Uniden scanner.
