State Highway 327 (SH 327) is a 8.006-mile (12.884 km) state highway in the U.S. state of Texas. The highway begins at a junction with U.S. Highway 69 (US 69) and US 287 south of Kountze and heads east to a junction with U.S. Highway 96 in Silsbee .
Texas State Highway 327 runs through downtown Silsbee south of the city center, leading east to US 96 and west 9 miles (14 km) to Kountze, the Hardin county seat. According to the United States Census Bureau, Silsbee has a total area of 7.7 square miles (20.0 km 2), of which 0.04 square miles (0.1 km 2), or 0.64%, are water. [4]
Hardin County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas, United States.As of the 2020 census, its population was 56,231. [1] The county seat is Kountze. [2] The county is named for the family of William Hardin from Liberty County, Texas.
1300 was originally licensed to Hardin County Broadcasting, on December 31, 1959. The call sign assigned to the new station was KKAS and it was licensed to Silsbee, Texas at 500 watts. The KKAS studios were located at the transmitter site which (as the FCC described as) Highway 327, 3 miles west of the center of Silsbee.
