In 1831, an early pioneer, Jacob Coonce erected the first cabin in St. Clair County, about a mile and a half west of the Sac River in Roscoe Township. Here he drove his first stake and shortly after that the first planted crops began to surface and the county was well on its way.
The St. Clair County Collector of Revenue is the elected official responsible for collecting current and delinquent property taxes for the county and various political subdivisions within the county which have authorized property tax levies.

Payments can be taken over the phone by calling the office @ (417) 646-2486. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 4:30 pm. The Collector's office now accepts payments online. A Convenience fee will be charged on payments made through the on-line system.
