hi, just purchased an 01 excursion limited 4x4 with 7.3PSD. i traded in my 2002 super dutyf-250crew 4x4 with thev-1o.it was the worst MPG vehicle ive owned getting at the most 11mpg. the fuel mileage with the excursion exceeds what i thought i would get. im getting close to 21mpg hiway and 16.6 city driving! probably the best truck ive owned yet.

Tell your Ford Service that the Brakes are not your problem. The problem is Ford put brakes on a 7200 Lb. vehicle, that are for a 1/2 ton truck. That is just my opinion. That's a lot of weight to be stopping and starting all the time. This causes the rotors to heat up and cool down and heat up and cool down.
* Looks: this is mostly opinion, but I have heard a lot of Suburban folks saying they are tired of the look and that the Excursion offers a new rugged look for them. Yes, I have seen an occasional negative on Excursion looks, but basically, most people like the Excursion's looks. * Interior Space: Edge goes to Excursion, especially behind 3rd row.
