Matthew Alan Gunter (born December 20, 1957) [1] is the ninth and current bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Wisconsin in The Episcopal Church. He assumed this post upon the 2024 merger of the Dioceses of Eau Claire and Fond du Lac with the Diocese of Milwaukee. From 2014 to 2024, he was the diocesan bishop of Fond du Lac.
Trevor Casper (May 21, 1993 – March 24, 2015) was a state trooper for the Wisconsin State Patrol. On his first solo assignment, [2] Casper was shot and killed [1] in Fond du Lac attempting to apprehend a bank robbery and murder suspect on March 24, 2015. [3] He was the youngest police officer killed in the line of duty in Wisconsin. [4]
