I’m back for knee 2. It’s been 5 years since knee 1 and things have changed in the world of tkr! I am scheduled with my original surgeon and the traditional style tkr for 5/29. I live near the jiffy knee dr though and am considering checking him out. Has anyone here had tkr via jiffy knee method? I’d like to hear your opinion so far.
Jiffy knee, though, is amazing! If I can figure out how to attach a day 1 video I will. I know folks are gonna ask about jiffy knee etc. Google it. His Facebook page is also called jiffy knee. I can raise my leg. I can walk unassisted. I can climb stairs unassisted. I have a good bend in my knee and can almost fully straighten it.

I am a RN so I do plenty of walking and my knee responds to rest and elevation.

I talked to the top, most recommended surgeons and they both said that both surgeries are similar, and that in both cases they cut through the quad tendon.
The surgery also takes longer to perform than an initial knee replacement. Revision knee replacement usually does not provide the same expected lifespan as an initial replacement. Surgical trauma, scar tissue, and mechanical weakening of components tend to reduce performance of a revised implant. 2. Recovery and outcomes. Care after knee ...
Hello everyone I received my knee replacement surgery on 11/09/2023. I’m just having problems sleeping at night due to the positioning of my knee. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Advantages of Partial Knee Replacement. In appropriate cases, the advantages of partial knee replacement over total knee replacement include a smaller scar, marginally quicker recovery, marginally less post-op pain, and less blood loss. Some recipients maintain that a partial knee replacement feels more natural and provides better range-of-motion.
Hi Connie, what you are experiencing is definitely the norm. I had the same problems that first year after my knee replacements. Finding something to wear over your knee is an excellent idea. I wore knee warmers or even nylon long underwear under my clothes and that helped a lot. It will get better in future years. Hang in there!
