Re: Switching to Cinnamon. by sakamitz » Thu Jun 16, 2022 10:20 pm. There is no need to perform a fresh install from scratch, you can just install the cinnamon desktop in your Mate installation. Typing this command: Code: Select all. sudo apt install cinnamon-desktop-environment. And logout, you can see Cinnamon desktop listed in the login menu.
