Hi, I'm trying to set up a new third-party app password so that I can use Outlook to collect my emails from Yahoo. I've followed the link on the Yahoo help page which takes me to the Account Security screen. The screen is empty, so I can't do anything. I've tried on a Win10 PC and a Mac, so it's not...
It comes up with his email page and email address. It then asks for his password. He clicks on that and I says"your password is incorrect, try again or use the link below". He then clicks on forgotten password. He gets the reset page. Puts in his email address, clicks continue. Obviously he can't get it reset by email so selects security question.
1 the Sky account (billing) uses a different email address from the skyemail account we are trying to recover. 2 the options we are presented with on the "my-details" page are; email xxxx@gmailxxx - edit email I dont want to change the email associated with this part of the system do I? There are options to reset the pw and the security question.
17 Oct 2023 02:20 PM. Hi, my email account is locked. It is not recognising my password or security questions. This has been going on for a week now. I've tried everything, going to sky ID puts me round and round in circles trying to fix this. Any answers would be appreciated.
Suddenly it stopped sending / receiving emails. I have tried absolutely everything to restore the service to no avail. When I try to create an app password in Yahoo I am told to login then go to the security page to generate an app password but there nothing shown on the security page other than 'security is OK' nothing more. Totally useless.

Find out more. What you need to do is to call Sky, when you get to speak to someone do not mention that your email account has been locked, just say your online Sky account is locked. It might take a few calls before you get to talk to someone that can help you, as a few years ago it took my 3 such calls before someone knew how to unlock mine ...
I don't think Sky Yahoo Mail has the ability to auto forward incoming emails to an alternative email address. Sky don't support the use of VPNs so use of one may or may not work. In some cases it blocks access hence the advice to turn it off when logging in. In others, as for you, it facilitates access.
