Tirunelveli (Tamil: [tiɾɯnelʋeːli] ⓘ), also known as Nellai and historically (during British rule) as Tinnevelly, is a major city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of the Tirunelveli District.
