The Shining Sea Bikeway is a rail trail on Cape Cod in Falmouth, Massachusetts, United States. The path runs for 10.7 miles (17.2 km) [ 1 ] from the Steamship Authority ferry terminal in Woods Hole to North Falmouth .

The Shining Sea Bikeway crosses the property on a paved former railroad bed. Of interest is an old cattle tunnel which was for herding livestock under the former railroad tracks. The farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, [1] and included in the West Falmouth Village Historic District in 1998. [4]
The Shining Sea Bikeway passes close to the center of West Falmouth Village, providing access to the beautiful Great Sippewissett Marsh to the south and the historic 1775 Bourne Farm and cranberry bogs to the north. Chapoquoit Beach, a Falmouth public beach, is also close to the center of West Falmouth Village. [5]

The north end of the Shining Sea Bikeway is located in North Falmouth at the former site of the North Falmouth Railroad Station. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.6 square miles (17.1 km 2), of which 3.9 square miles (10.1 km 2) is land, and 2.7 square miles (7.0 km 2) (40.98%) is water.
