Al-Dawsari was born in the Saudi governorate of al-Kharj, southeast of the capital Riyadh. Al-Dawsari was a student of a group of 'ulama and sheikhs, including Abd al-Aziz Al al-Shaykh, Salih al-Fawzan, and Ibn Jibrin.
