English: First version of the official flag of the Philippines. Created by the Katipunan at Naic, Cavite and first displayed in 1897. It features an eight-rayed white sun with a mythical face on a field of red.

Historians also questioned the limited number of flags included in the set. It is pointed out that the "Evolution of the Philippine Flag" set only represents a small fraction of flags used by Katipunan battalions.
