Tompkinsville is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Monroe County, Kentucky, United States. [4] The population was 2,309 at the 2020 census . [ 2 ] The city was named after Vice President Daniel D. Tompkins who served under President James Monroe , for whom the county was named.
As of 2020 the paper prints Tuesday through Friday plus one weekend edition. [2] and has a circulation of 6,100–7,300. [3] Due to financial stresses during the COVID-19 pandemic, the newspaper reduced their print schedule to twice a week and beefed up their online delivery and services. [4]
